• VOCO is short for Vocal Coalition, and it looks at first glance like a hip-hop youth choir. But it’s a confidence-building, community-creating, life-changing journey that helps young people of all backgrounds learn to believe in the value of their voice.

Fusing vocal, musical and personal wellness experiences with intentional social-emotional learning, VOCO proudly offers Denver youth a one-of-a-kind experience that doesn’t exist anywhere else in our current educational or cultural landscape.

Founded in 2017 by Executive Director Travis Branam with a group of less than 20 students, VOCO currently serves over 150 4th through 12th grade youth annually in our youth programs across the Mile HIgh City.

Our youth programs (usually called Clubs) meet mostly after school in classrooms or community centers. Some clubs are open to the public, while others are only for youth at the hosting location. Some clubs prepare for and participate in performances with local legends, while other clubs are geared more toward mental health and social-emotional wellness.

Our Monday night Club at St. Elizabeth’s School (near Denver School of the Arts) is open to any 4th-12th grade student across the entire Denver Metro Area. Complete tuition coverage is available for under-resourced families, and no audition is required for youth who want to join.

Thank you for visiting our website ans for being curious about who we are. Here’s to the power in every youth voice. Here’s to the power in you.

    VOCO Executive Director

  • Thanks to the generous support of foundations and corporations as well as program fees paid by our schools and partners, the life-changing VOCO experience is almost always free for Mile High youth and families. Instead of requiring tuition, we encourage families with means to donate to our annual Colorado Gives campaign, and ask all families to help spread the word about this unique opportunity.
